Pre-Treatment Allow an hour for treatment. Come with a clean face. There can be no rashes or open areas where treated. Avoid any Motrin/Aleve/Aspirin products for 48 hours prior to treatment. If you are on any antibiotics or steroid appt. should be rescheduled. Please let us know if you have any allergies to numbing agents. Consider pre-treatment with Acyclovir if you have any history of cold sores (HSV).
Post-Treatment No belly sleeping for 24 hours. No facial massage for 24 hours. Apply cool compress for 5 min at a time and at least one time before bed. Expect swelling and bruising at injection site for at least 3 - 5 days. Lips tend to be worse. Most patients return to work the next day; for most patients the minimal bruising or swelling can be concealed by makeup.
Pre-Treatment Allow 15 - 30 minutes for each treatment area. Avoid herbal supplements such as gingko, green tea or NSAIDs 5 days prior to treatment - this will reduce bruising. Consider pre-treatment with Acyclovir if you have a history of cold sores (HSV). If you are taking antibiotics or steroids please reschedule until complete. Any active infection, rash, open wound or other inflammation may require rescheduling.
Post-Treatment Avoid belly sleeping for 24 - 48 hours if possible. No vigorous lifting or straining for 2 - 3 hours following treatment. Do not rub or manipulate treatment area for 24 hours (no facial massage) Avoid irritating products such as scrubs/peels/retinols for 24 hours. Make-up can be applied gently immediately after treatment. Most patients do not require time off work, the minimal bruising and swelling can be concealed by makeup for most patients.
Pre-Treatment Allow an hour for treatment. Treatment should be done in fall or winter due to sun exposure. Come with clean skin. Do not use any harsh chemicals on skin 3-5 days prior (Retinols, scrubs, peels, hydroxyquinone etc) Schedule at least five days prior to any important for skin to return to normal.
Post-Treatment Avoid retinols, scrubs, peels, waxes or other harsh chemicals for at least five days. Treatment area will feel warm and slightly tender like a sunburn. Skin may be somewhat flushed for up to 24 hours. Cool compresses and Motrin are beneficial. Pigment may flake off over the next five days with normal washing - limelight only. Sunscreen is a must and will prevent recurrence of excessive pigment and sun damage (min spf 30). Time off work is variable - fair or red complexions will see more swelling and irritation. As a general guidance 1 - 3 days is recommended.

We recommend avoiding aspirin or motrin for 24 hours prior to reduce bleeding and bruising.
Post-Treatment Avoid retinols, scrubs, peels or other harsh chemicals for at least five days. Treatment area will feel warm and slightly tender like a sunburn. Skin may be somewhat flushed for up to 24 hours. Cool compresses and Motrin are beneficial. Sunscreen is a must and will prevent recurrence of excessive pigment and sun damage (min spf 30). Time off work is variable - most patients will be off work the day of treatment only.
Pre Treatment Allow for 30 min to an hour for treatment, large areas can require longer. Laser vein treatment is more effective in fall and winter due to decreased pigment in skin. No spray tan or tanning lotions. No rash, infection or open wounds in area of treatment. Although not absolute, it may be beneficial to avoid motrin/aspirin like products a few days before treatment to reduce possible bruising. Treatment targets spider veins and superfiicial veins. Large varicose veins are not affected by this therapy. Come to the visit with clean skin - no lotions or oils.
Post Treatment Laser vein treatment forces the vein to collapse and seal itself. Erythema, bruising, crusting and even blistering can occur although this is usually minimal. "Hemosiderin staining" - can result from blood products(iron) leaking into tissue and almost always resolve similar to a bruise. Compression stockings can be helpful after vein therapy to prevent swelling an encourage venous return. Avoid heat and sun exposure such as tanning and hot tubs until irritation and redness have resolved. Use cool compress to ease swelling and redness. No specific amount of time off work is indicated, but for people who stand for long periods, it may be beneficial to rest and elevate legs for 12 - 24 hours after leg therapy.
Pre Treatment Allow for 30 min to an hour for treatment, large areas can require longer. No plucking or waxing at least ten days before treatment. No lotions, oils or tanning. Appt should be delayed if there are Rashes, wounds, irritations or redness of treatment area. The less tan you are - the more effective your laser treatment will be. Consider pre treatment with Acyclovir for areas around the lips if cold sores are common.
Post Treatment Hair follicles may be irritated for 4-8 hours after treatment; mild irritation, redness and even itching are not uncommon. Avoid sun, heat, and harsh skin products for at least a day. Use cool compress as needed.
